Inspirational Tuesday

Evening, hope you're enjoying your summer :)
I'm currently rather occupied with a family member in hospital and therefore any interior project is put on hold for a couple of weeks. Instead I'll share some more beautiful and inspiring pictures from Pinterest:

Remember I spoke about decoupaging earlier. LOOK AT THIS DRESSER! Have you seen anything more exquisite? Not exactly sure what it could be used for but who cares - we wantsss it!!!

I also totally adore these chairs! I would love to have these as dining room chairs, all in odd colours. They look rather comfy too.

What a gorgeous little nook this is. I'd really like to curl up among those pillows. I do have a round dining room table myself, but that doesn't stop me from drooling at others!

I still keep glancing logingly at living room chairs, although I've just pimped my own. This is soo beautiful and it looks super comfy as well!

I basically just love this picture although I don't have a hallway like this. I wouldn't mind using this as inspiration for my bedroom renovation, mind. I love the wallpaer and the crisp white panel. The table looks rather simple but it still makes everything look really luxurious.

She went a-hiking

One of the best things about Oslo is that you can jump on the tube which takes you 20-25 minutes from downtown and then you're smack in the middle of the forest. Or "marka" as we call it. The other great thing is that marka is thoroughly facilitated for hikers and skiers. There are tracks and signs and cafés through the entire area, even though it's a vast one. So what else to do on a lovely summer day?

We took the train up to Frognerseteren and took a moment to enjoy the view over the city before trotting 3,5 kilometres into the woods.

Then we made a stop at Tryvann lake. I was actually tempted to test the water.

But instead we bought a soda at Tryvannstua and sat in the sun for a bit.

It's a pretty place and apparently you can hire it for parties and such as well.

Then we went on for another 4 kilometres before stopping at Ullevålsætra café and tried out their freshly baked goods, before setting out for the final 3,5 kilometres.

HALP! We're in the middle of the thickest forest, miles away from any civilisation!

... on second thought, nevermind, there it is ,o)
After 11 kilometres completed, we've reached Maridalen and we caught a bus and crawled ourselves back home.

A mini pimp: Living room chair

As I have previously mentioned, I used to like furniture made of pine but lately I have grown tired of the colour. As I also have mentioned before, I pimped my kitchen table, transforming it from wood to blue. I am also planning on painting my living room section, but more on that later. My preoccupation the latest weeks has been the chair in my living room.

Said chair is a good old Pello chair from IKEA. As you can see it is perfectly nice and harmless, comfy to sit in and it makes no trouble whatsoever. Except that it was starting to annoy me. Now, I have so many projects both interior-wise and otherwise in store the upcoming months, so getting a new chair is out of the question. Therefore I figured, as I still have some of the paint from my jam jar project, why not give this baby a wee makeover?

Voilà. A slab of paint, a new pillow from JYSK and a soft blanket from Nille and I feel a lot better about the whole thing. The chair now fits much more into the rest of the decor, since aqua is already the accent colour for the rest of my pillows and a lamp.

Better than nothing, eh?!
