Happy advent! Gosh, two weeks until Christmas, I tell ya, I think it takes forever until December comes, but when it's finally here time flies very fast!
My house is now fully decorate for Christmas. Even my tree is up and this is really reallly early for Norway. People normally put up most of their decorations a few days before Christmas and the tree on the 23rd. But since I'm away for the holidays, I want to enjoy my own stuff now.
A lot of the decor I have also have a sentimental value for me, so I thought I'd share them with you:
This is my little Christmas heart from Nille (www.nille.no) that goes up in my dining room window, which means whenever I get home in the evenings I can see it from afar.
This brass candelabra I got from a friend of mine several years ago. She had one during a dinner at her place and I said. Where'd you get that one, I've been wanting one myself. And she said: I got two, you can have one.
The table runner I've had since I was young so that has to come out.
I love these little tea candle holders from the brand Jette Frölich that I got from a friend many years ago. You get such lovely light from them. The three wise men snow globe my mother gave me a few years ago.
The advent star is a must. There are so many lovely advent stars to buy these days. But I optet for this metal one because it's similar to the one my parents have and what I grew up with *sings "Tradition" from "Fiddler on the roof"*
This lovely Christmas angel I bought at Harrods in London quite a few years ago. It was horribly epensive at the time (about £40), but I just fell in love with it from the moment I saw it.
The little candle holder in front I bought at Santa's house in Drøbak a few years ago.
This little candle holder is perhaps what is most dear to me. It used to belong to my granmother who passed away in 2009. I remember she had this and I always admired it and I was really delighted when got to take it home (which was long before her death).
This table decoration I bought at a small flower shop close to where my granmother used to live (see above). It was one of those things I fell for immediately and I remember I buying it whilst on my way to visiting my gran. I showed her and we both agreed that it was a beautiful piece. As the years have passed this ting has become quite a bit more shabby (particularly since a certain furball loved to chew on it as a kittem) but I will always keep it I think. It reminds me of my gran.
Do you have any fave holiday pieces?
Before I take my leave, I want to thank everyone who drops by my blog. The stats are always a nice read whenever I log on here. Much appreciated!
I wish everyone a lovely Christmas and all the best for 2017!
