A paint in the neck

Evening, long time no see. November has not been charming (in fact is it ever?) because since we last spoke and I went on about the nice autumn weather, it quickly went from nice autum to full-on winter and back to autum, but this time foggy and rainy. And with daylight gone at 4 pm, so goes my energy level. I've been struggling enough with my regular housework tasks!

Everything is therefore put on hold until after Christmas because I know that when the new year comes, along comes a revived urge to re-new things.

So first project is the hallway which sounds a lot more grand than it really is. But since it's the first room you enter you want it to look nice. Problem with said room is that it's not very big and people put things there - bags, shoes, jackets etc. and that leaves marks on the wall easily. The walls are currently in a colour called "Toscana" (because I visioned an Italian-inspired hallway back in the day - FAIL!) which is a latté colour. I have reached the conclusion that I would want a darker colour to make it look more clean, as well as a new light fixture and new furniture. More on that later. For now the decision to make is the colour on the wall.

At first my idea was to go for something really dark and bright, like some kind of plum colour, but thankfully I was talked out of that. Then for a long time the choice was this colour here called "marrakesh". But in the end I think it's too brown for me, because I've never cared much for browny/warm colours.

In the end I decided on some kind of gray, but with a purply/pink undertone. Originally I wanted the smaller colour sample on the middle top, but trying it in the hallway, it's just going to be too dark. Even with the new light fixture. The colour above "sukkertopp" I thought was just too pink, but it does come out grey.

Here's the colour up against the current wall colour. The colour chosen is probably a bit too trendy these days but I don't care! I have a vision and I'm sticking to it!

As I may or may not have mentioned earlier, the plan is to paint the bookshelves in the living room as well, so I've also picked up some colour samples for that.

The bottom right is just too blue I think. At times I'm just too tempted to chose white although that's probably a very bad idea. The walls are white and if you chose the wrong shade of white, it may very well clash and just end up looking dirty. So I guess it's either the top right or the bottom left.

But which one? Any opinions?
